aww rubbish!

hehe, nothing's wrong, I just like to say that!

Not much is new around here lately. Both girls have come down with colds and life around here has been pretty much miserable. Madelyn isn't napping during the day and Emma isn't sleeping at night. Makes for a nice Mommy! :o)

Tomorrow is the last day of goose hunting season....do you know what that means? I get my husband back!!!! I try so hard not to complain during goose season but it's so hard with him not around that much. Emma is constantly asking me where Daddy is, and it's easy enough to explain it to her, but still. When he is home he's normally eating or sleeping. She really misses him and that breaks my heart. ANYWAY, he'll be home soon, he's got one last night of partying it up on a Saturday in him and then he'll be back home with us.

Speaking of partying it up, I was supposed to go out with Lynae and some of the girls I used to work with tonight for her birthday on Saturday but, they aren't going out until 8:30 and they're going out in Joliet. I just don't know if I want to drive all the way to Joliet and then have to come home to what I'm sure will be a long, sleepless night. She told me she understands if I don't go, but I know I'll still feel bad. I'm just not a night owl anymore, and I haven't been feeling so hot either.

Since Darik won't be home tomorrow night, the girls and I are going to my parents' house for dinner. That excites me so much. First off, I don't have to cook dinner, that's a bonus in itself, and second, my mom is seriously the best cook I know. I would LOVE to have lasagna but I know that eating that much in carbs would kill me for sure. I don't know what she's making but I'm sure it'll be good.

Oooh, oooh, I made beef stew for dinner tonight, my first time ever, and it was absolutely scrumptious! I'm all into making new things lately because my options are seriously limited right now. I can have proteins and "good" vegetables. There's not a whole lot around that is family friendly like that. Neither Darik or Emma are big fish eaters so that gets rid of a lot of options. ANYWAY, the stew turned out really good. I added a little too much cornstarch to it and it was sort of thick, but it was still good!

I suppose that's all for the evening. I really hope to get a good night's sleep tonight, but I'm not holding my breath.
