Busy Morning!

We live in the boonies.  Well, not *really* the boonies but we have to drive 1/2 an hour to get to anything of importance.  Like Walmart or Target, or even a "real" grocery store.  This morning was our trek to Walmart.  We didn't need a lot of stuff but we needed things.  I promised Emma I'd get her a present for getting 5 nights in a row on her sticker chart (when she sleeps all night she gets a sticker), so she HAD to get that and I wanted to get Madelyn something for doing so well with her adenoids.  We also needed a few groceries but nothing major. So, off to Walmart we went.  As usual it was a 2+hour trip.  Blech.  I like to go in the AM because the girls are super, duper hyper in the afternoon into the evening and we usually have less meltdowns in the morning.  I so pick my battles.

We've got a busy, but fun weekend planned and I'm kind of excited.  Tomorrow we're supposed to go to a bridal expo with my sister and possibly go somewhere with Emily and the kids to let them burn off some steam.  Sunday we're going with Matt and Levi to either Chuck E Cheese or the bounce place again.  Then Sunday evening we're going to the  IL's for dinner.  Monday we'll probably do something with my mom since she'll be out of school too.

Today's photo is a two parter.  I couldn't pass up the pic of Madelyn because she was truly disgusted with me when she woke up from her nap.  You can just see her thinking, "Mom.  Seriously.  I just woke up.  Let's quit with the pictures."

Part 2 is my baby girl who makes my heart so happy.  Not everyone knows about Emma and her eye problems.  Emma has a strobismis that is ultimately going to lead to her having to have surgery in either the spring or over the summer.  We've dealt with the issue since she was 2 and she has no 3-D vision.  We couldn't figure out why she was having so many issues with balance and picking things up off the floor, etc. and now we know.  The glasses did correct her 3-D vision for awhile but now we're back to square one.  ANYWAY, they had told us when she started school they weren't going to push the whole writing issue with her because of the 3-D problems.  Well, in true Emma form, she has surpassed everyone's expectations.  This picture doesn't totally show what she does but I love the fact that she loves to write.  She will seriously write anything that you help her spell out.  This is her version of Mom/Dad/Emma...

and with that I'm out.  Have a SUPER weekend.

Until next time...

great pictures!! I think kids often surpass doctors expectations because doctors seem to be very pessimistic. Hope she continues doing great!!
