An update

Seems like I'm always apologizing for being a "bad blogger," as if anyone really read this, but I never really have much to report.

We had Emma's birthday party on the 2nd. We totally lucked out and had gorgeous weather again this year. I don't know how we do it, but every year the weather has been so perfect. Her birthday is at the end of July so there's the potential of some really nasty, hot weather or even a storm or something. Sunday was upper 70's and sunny the whole day! I felt really bad for her because about 2ish she started feeling sick. She said she had a headache and she didn't even want to open her presents or cut her cake. We did plow through cutting the cake and opening (most) of the presents and then she went in the house and took a nap for about an hour. She woke up feeling fine and she did get to play with some of her friends who were still here. She had a great day, despite the minor upset.

We've been spending lots of time with my mom before she goes back to school. Emma almost expects it now. I know Mom's having a really hard time with going back to school this year. She's in a new (much larger) school that's about a 1/2 hour from home. I'm sure she'll be fine, but you can tell right now that she's not so excited.

Yesterday was a BUSY day of nothing. Well, ok, it wasn't nothing but we didn't really go anywhere. Keli and Andrea came down since Keli was watching her nieces. They're 6 and 4 and we've always said we''re going to get them together to hang out. We went out to the beach from a couple hours and then we came home, put Mads down for a nap and let all the kids play outside (she brought her 2 younger boys too). They stayed until about 4 and then we came inside to just "chill out" until the normal Friday gang came over at 4:30 (yes, yes, I know, it was Thursday). We hung out and cooked out until about 7 and then it was definitely time for the girls to go in, get baths and go to bed. It was a long day of outside, but they really enjoyed themselves...and so did I!

Today I'm going to watch Ryan for Emily while she runs and gets all the stuff for her sister's bridal shower. It's just not right that she should have to take a 4 year old and a newborn to WalMart by herself. Ryan and Emma are usually really well behaved so I don't mind at all. Other than that, I don't have a whole lot going on today. Seems like most of my creative teams release stuff on Friday/Saturday so I've been doing lots of scrapping the past couple days (surprise, right?!).

Other than that, not a whole lot to update on.

Until next time...

I'm so glad that Emma had a great birthday and I'm sorry that she had that bit of not feeling well. It's awfully nice of you to rescue your friend from the newborn/4-year-old WalMart trip... it's not easy!
